Mario Hernandez

Mario Ismael Hernandez is a PhD student pursuing his doctorate in Exercise Physiology. He obtained his B.S. in Kinesiology and M.S. in Clinical Exercise Physiology at Arizona State University. His research interests include improving athletic performance in the heat with a concentration of the gut microbiome and intestinal permeability. He hopes to work with motorsport drivers in Formula 1 and the World Endurance Championship (WEC). With what he learns working with athletes, he hopes to translate this research into improving the overall health of individuals with type 2 diabetes and their safety in the heat. When he is not in school, Mario enjoys trying new restaurants, hanging out with friends and family, working out, traveling, and watching anime and Formula 1.
